and http://www.education.com.hk/
respectively. The Services is owned and operated by Worldwide
Education Limited and Hong Kong Education Web Limited ("the
Companies") respectively. By using the Services, you agree
to be bound by all of the terms in this agreement:
We are committed to protect your privacy. All the information
that the Services gather about you will be used solely to
assist you in receiving customized education and learning
information and accessing member-only functions and features.
Please read carefully the privacy policy as follows:
Information Gather and Usage
Information Gather from Member Registration:
Users who register as the member of the Services will provide
personal information through optional, voluntary submissions.
These are voluntary submissions to receive our email newsletters,
browsing member-only content, submitting inquires and using
certain member-only services (such as eCard).
Information Gather from Member-only Service Registration:
Apart from the information gathered from member registration,
both the "e-Registration" and "Global Course Matcher" services
require users to provide extra information such as contact
telephone and addresses, personal identification number, date
of birth and basic academic data. The extra information is
used for:
- course/seminar/event enrollment, seat registration and
payment process
- process application requests to education providers
Information Gather from Web Sites Usage Tracking:
User traffic patterns throughout the Services are being tracked.
However, we do not correlate this information with data about
individual users. The Services also tracks and catalogs the
search terms that users enter in our search functions, but
this tracking is never associated with individual users. We
use tracking information to determine which areas of the Services
users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas.
We do not track what individual users read, but rather how
well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to
build a better service for you.
The Services creates aggregate reports on user demographics
and traffic patterns for advertisers, sponsors, co-branders
and partners. This allows our users to receive advertisements
or other promotional messages that are pertinent to their
needs. Because we don't track the usage patterns of individual
users, an advertiser, sponsor, co-brander or partner will
never know that a specific user clicked their ad. We will
not disclose any information about any individual user except
to comply with applicable law or valid legal process or to
protect the personal safety of our users or the public.
Security
The Companies has security measures in place to protect the
loss, misuse and alteration of the user information under
our control. However, it is virtually impossible to guarantee
100% secure data storage or transmission over the Internet
using current technologies. As a result, while we strive to
protect your personal information, the Companies cannot and
will not ensure or warrant the security of information you
transmit to us or from our online services, and you transmit
such information at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission,
we make every effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Member Account, Password
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of
your member password and account, and are fully responsible
for all activities that occur under your password or account.
You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use
of your password or account or any other breach of security.
The Companies cannot and will not be liable for any loss or
damage arising from your failure to comply with this section.
Correction / Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such
as email address), the Services provide a way to update your
information - user should login to the Member Page to perform
the modifications.
Opt-Out Policy
The Services give users options wherever necessary and practical.
Such choices include:
- Opting not to register as a member.
- Opting not to receive customized topic InfoPack email
newsletters (user will still receive member announcement
messages from the Services though).
- Opting not to subscribe "Global Course Matcher" service
* User should login to the Member Page to perform the above
actions.
Your Consent
By using the Services, you consent to the collection and
use of this information by the Companies. Our privacy and
security policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as
necessary. If we decide to change our policies, we will post
those changes on this page so that you are always aware of
what information we collect, how we use it, and under what
circumstances we disclose it.
